Apples are tasty and nutritious, but have you ever encountered the issue of them browning once sliced?

Previously, I soaked apples in sugar water to stop them from discoloring, but I've found a simpler technique that I want to share. 🍎🍏

When is it beneficial to prepare sliced apples ahead of time?

  • When going on a picnic: Having them pre-cut makes it easier to enjoy them more often.

  • For kids' snacks: Instead of cutting apples repeatedly, try cutting and storing them in advance.

  • To simplify hosting, cut them in advance when preparing for guests.

  • For lunchboxes: Packing them in easy-to-eat sizes is ideal, but I used to worry about them browning. Thanks to this new method, I can include them more frequently now!

The method is very simple!

  1. Cut the apples into bite-sized pieces.

  1. Fill a large bowl with water and soak the apples for 1-2 minutes, then remove them.

  1. Place them in a container and store them. That’s it! How easy is this? Haha.

I found out that just soaking the apples in water can prevent browning.

One of my followers commented that this method also works for pears, peaches, and avocados. While the color may change slightly over a long storage period, it can help maintain freshness for a good amount of time.

I’m planning to test this out when I get the chance. I’ll let you know how it goes! 😊
